Prepare yourself!

Spread the love

Prepare yourself Christmas is right around the corner and if you are like me you are making most of your presents this year. I have already started working on Christmas presents, and some ornaments. I have gone a long time without really enjoying Christmas, only seeing the negative side of it but I don’t want my daughter growing up that way. I want her to enjoy the holiday like I did as a child, and have it not be all about presents. Presents are just icing on the cake with Christmas, the real fun comes from spending time with family and I plan on teaching her that.

Here are the ornaments that I have been making.

I haven’t painted in quite some time and I forgot how much fun it is. This is definitely something that I am going to keep on doing. Maybe at some point in the future most of our Christmas ornaments will be hand made.

Along with this I have also been practicing with a tool that I haven’t worked with in a while, my afghan hook, to make some dishcloths for someone for Christmas

Dish Cloth 1 Dish Cloth 2I have been thinking about making some tutorials for this. Maybe even a few video tutorials to go along with it and some of my older tutorial posts. Another thing that I have made is some coasters.

Coaster 1I only have half of them, and I have no idea who they are going to be for. I got the yarn on a really, really good sale and I couldn’t pass it up. I didn’t have enough of it to make socks so I thought I would use this pattern that I found on the internet. The one I downloaded had a typo in it so it was confusing to try and figure it out. I like the challenge though. You can find it here with all the corrections, and you can find my ravelry post about it here.

That is all I have for you right now, but keep your eyes pealed because I have a hat pattern that I finished and needs to be posted, and soon more tutorials on the way!
