The 30 day blogging challenge is almost over. After this post there are only two left before this challenge is done. I left some of the more challenging one or the ones that I could talk a lot about. The post I am putting up today is more the latter than the former.
With today question, “What popular notion do think the world has wrong?” we are going to get philosophical. We are going to talk about morality in a broad sense. One of the first ones that we all have to overcome to learn to think about other peoples situations.
The thought that what is right for an individual is right for everyone. This is something we are all guilty of. From a vegetarian trying to make all meat eaters stop eating meat. To someone trying to convert a friend to a specific version of a religion. The idea that one persons lifestyle is right for everyone is not accurate. No matter how much we want it to be.
We have to remember that we are all individuals, and that everyone is on a different journey. We are not their judge, because they could equally judge us. We all have done things wrong in the eyes of others. While you might want what is right for you to be right for everyone else that is just not the case.
This is one of the more popular notions that we have to get over before we can really start to understand other people. It is a hard one because it of how difficult it is to think outside our own minds. When we can get beyond this barrier we can really understand and begin to relate to people we never thought we could. It is one of the first building blocks to empathy.
